Hi,I m a new blogger n wat i m writing is related to watI have experienced recently.I am a teacher by profession and trying to resume my career after a break of 4years.Since I had completed my M.Phil during this break so definately I was aiming to be a senior college lecturer, but when I experienced it for a short spell of 5 months,I realized two things.Firstly senior college students dont rely that much on teachers for their course content and they dont have same feelings, adoration and respect for their teachers that junior students have.I missed it badly as I was really pampered and adored by my previous students.Secondly there was lot more than teaching that was involved here.Lot of ummm, wat should I say, manipulation perhaps, was involved here.I was asked to correct papers, which did not belong to my expertise perview, and also to pass certain students."The result has to be maintained, you see!"I was told.I quit that job,
Now I am trying to get back to junior college teaching. So I applied at various reputed schools. With my kind of job experience and qualifications I was extremely confident that I will get a good job easily. But pune has endless surprises for me.Atthe first school,I easily cleared prelim interview,GD,teaching demonstration and reached final interview. There I came to know that many applicants hadn't even appeared for half of the rounds but yet they were there in the final stage. One lady told me she had given prelim interview on telephone and her demo lesson wasn't even observed. Many more such discrepencies came to light during our casual talks.I was seething with anger. But could do nothing.I gave my final interview and came back. Now I am waiting for the results. At the other place, very highly acclaimed IB school, even after being given appointment,I was made to wait for 3 hours and then Iwas told that they were too busy to take my interview!!!!Ever since that day I have been asking myself what qualifications are valued here?Iam highly disappointed by the unprofessional attitude that I have witnessed here.
hi, just read ur blog and found it interesting and true in many a ways. Ours being a democracy, we elect the people to rule over us and then we ourselves have to suffer the beurocracy and other pbs related to corruption and bad governance. So it isnt surprising that favourism exists everywhere. We have supressed ourselves and turn a blind eye as we find ourselves weak and helpless against the might of them. I feel that every indivisual should at some corner of their life after gaining sum status in the society should reach out, group themselves and fight it out........ I can only pray to God that this realisation dawns soon over our society or else we are doomed and a day will come when our sweet democracy would be a mere farce and jungle rule will rule our society..
